The first step in ending addition
For those who are addicted to alcohol and/or controlled substances, the road to recovery is a difficult journey, and withdrawal symptoms can be challenging and even dangerous. At Detox MD, we collaborate with treatment facilities to safely manage withdrawal symptoms through clinical inpatient medical detoxification. This is a critical first step in cessation, especially considering the dangers associated with suddenly stopping drug or alcohol use without proper medical support.
What to Expect
Inpatients medical detoxification is a voluntary service for adults who have used alcohol and or controlled substances within the previous 72 hours and are experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
It begins with a confidential screening, followed by an intake appointment. Each patient undergoes a medical history, complete laboratory work-up and a nursing assessment. Typically, the patient’s hospital stay lasts between
3-5 days.
Afterwards
Before a patient is discharged from the hospital, a plan is made for the patient’s follow up care with an appropriate community based treatment program. Support groups are recommended which offer education about addiction and ways to prevent relapse.
If you suffer from an addiction, or even think you might, please call one of our caring counselors day or night 24/7 at xxx-xxx-xxxx.
